AIJAC Congratulates South Sudan on its Independence

The Australia/Israel & Jewish Affairs Council congratulates the Republic of South Sudan as it officially joins the family of nations. After so many years of conflict, there is now the potential for peace and reason for optimism.
AIJAC National Chairman Mark Leibler AC and Dr Colin Rubenstein AM said, “We congratulate the large South Sudanese community in Australia and look forward to Australia’s speedy establishment of diplomatic relations with the new State. We are proud our country has already announced development assistance to support basic services such as education, sanitation and maternal health. AIJAC joins the prayers and aspirations of the people of South Sudan on this historic occasion.”
